JailHost
Find out what exactly ‘JailHost’ stands for. Find the advantages from enabling this feature for your hosted domain names.
It isn't unusual for lots of users to use weak passwords considering that they're less difficult to remember or to use scripts, templates and plug-ins that aren't updated for a long time. In either of these cases, it will not be very difficult for a hacker to take control of the Internet site and following that to take control of other websites that are hosted within the same account. In order to prevent this scenario, we've added an advanced level security option named JailHost. It restricts the access which a script has only to its own folder, so if one of your sites is compromised, the attacker will see its content, but won't be able to access any other content in your account, therefore the damage will be minimal. Of course, using JailHost will not replace the safety measures you must always take by keeping your scripts up-to-date and using long and complex passwords, but it'll allow you to restrict the damage to one site only.
JailHost in Cloud Website Hosting
We’ve included JailHost for all cloud website hosting packages, so you could protect your sites with only a few clicks inside the Hepsia Control Panel. The feature isn't enabled by default so as to prevent disturbing any websites where you might want visitors or administrators to be able to access content from other folders inside your account, but activating it for all the other websites is very simple. Unlike other Control Panels where most of the domains have their files in the exact same main folder, all domains and subdomains in Hepsia have their very own folders, which makes the control and the protection of multiple sites easier. In the unfortunate scenario of an Internet site getting hacked, the rest of your websites will be safe and we always have multiple daily backup copies for the infected one, therefore we will be able to recover it to its initial state in a matter of minutes.
