A catch-all mailbox is one that gathers all the messages sent to invalid addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone misspells it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Only one single mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and in this way you’ll never miss messages because the other side has an out-of-date address or has made a typographical error. The downside of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving plenty of unsolicited bulk emails, but this problem can be fixed by using anti-spam filtering software. It is also important to know that a mailbox with an activated catch-all feature cannot redirect inbound messages to a third-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Website Hosting

In case you host a domain name on our cloud platform and you have a cloud website hosting account, you will be able to activate the catch-all functionality for any email mailbox that you set up under the domain. The Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section includes quite a few functions, but it’s incredibly simple to work with, so creating a catch-all mailbox requires only one click. All the email addresses that you have will be displayed in this section in alphabetical order and you’ll just need to click the "Catch-all" button pertaining to the concrete email address. Our system will inform you if there is already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain or if the one that you want to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either disable the latter feature or choose some other mailbox. Deactivating the catch-all feature is just as simple and requires one more click on the very same button.
